With Edward Woodville’s book done, permission for the memorial plaque in Carisbrooke Castle Museum gained and the plaque ordered, with the historical series sold and work going on apace, the biography has bee sadly neglected. However, the current author is not that forthcoming and there is time to work. I spent the whole of yesterday evening and the whole of today working on Day 1 of the great tournament and am very pleased with it.

the work begins again on The Biography, around the work done on his brother's book, Captain Of The Wight.

Why the long delay … work and more work. Business relocating, for a start, but a ton of other work. Equeryonline did not pan out anywhere, waste of time and money, loads of rejections. One US agent wanted me to...

We are 2 days away from the anniversary of Antony's execution. Work has not progressed on the writing of this book, but the research is now up to 100 sources and counting. I have pulled in articles from all over England but said book on the Coronation has yet to arrive…

Carisbrooke Castle this afternoon, more reading through books and using the Sony digital recorder. Sat in the window seat as last time. Great fun, simply ignoring everyone and just working my way through. Cannot believe how helpful they were, slips of paper marking the pages where Woodvilles were mentioned. I have prepared a leaflet for the Museum to sell on Antony, a thank you for all the help. They are printed, boxed, and in the office because I walked out without them and only remembered as I walked up the slope to the castle…

Meantime, I am waiting on news of an agent before I go sending the proposal out again. I've been recommended to the agent by a publisher. She has all the information I can put together on my books, apart from children's, which she doesn't do. They are out with another publisher right now. I wait…

...read the two biographies of Elizabeth Woodville. Verdict, one is boring, breaks all the rules set out in the How To Write A Biography book and did not bring this vibrant Woodville alive at all. The other was better, but biased. The author obviously does not like Richard III (the world is divided into two types of people, those who do and those who don't) and it shows. She managed to dismiss...

Checking out the connection between Earl Rivers and Carisbrooke Castle shows me once again he is overlooked. I own two postcards showing the Woodville Gate but in current books it is shown as the Entrance Gate (not the same thing at all) English Heritage has completely overlooked his...

Too many scooters here to go out on the roads, so I spent the afternoon surfing. British History Online, great help for the land holdings for the Woodvilles, lots of information downloaded, printed and stored. More work done on the duel, almost there, almost at the point of actually...

Ran a few 'strange' words past Encarta, turned up two or three definitions, not anywhere near enough to make me wish I hadn't spent all that money …
